We both originally
became involved in crafts through ill health, but as time went on the type of crafts we
have been involved in has grown. We started off with patchwork and sewing. We were
introduced to quilling in the early nineties. Christine had been given a quilling kit by
the Girl Guide leader as a Christmas present but had left it untouched for years, a
Women's Institute (W.I.) demo got me interested & I looked for the kit. Christine and
I made it between us & we both got the bug.
We went to a day course in the village organised again by the W.I. on 3D decoupage and
we each came home with a picture we had made. I found I enjoyed this and so I do most of
the decoupage & Christine does most of the quilling now.
We have stalls in local crafts fairs and we often let people make their own cards using
our stamps. It's not only the children that enjoy themselves.
We have been asked to give demonstrations to local organisations. These have been fun
if not scarry standing up & talking to 20 people. I'd never done anything like this
before but once I get into it & they started asking questions it got easier.
